Francobollo Ribelle / Rebel Stamp is a confabulation that brings together key figures of anticolonial and antifascist resistance in Italy. These characters, from different times and historical contexts, find themselves enclosed within fictional commemorative stamps marking significant anniversaries in 2026: 90 years since the invasion of Ethiopia and the declaration of the Italian Empire, and 80 years since the election of the Madri Costituenti (Constituent Mothers), the 21 women elected to Italy’s Constituent Assembly, marking the first time women entered the Italian Parliament.

Through fictional encounters and dialogues, the work brings their voices and histories into the present.

Research and video in collaboration with Laura Fiorio and with the participation of Goga Mason and several contributors lending their voices to the characters.
